July 01, 2024

Hello to all our prayer warriors, friends, and supporters,

It is with great joy I share that we have received all funds for our $100,000.00 school fundraiser. As soon as school is out in mid-July, we will start pouring the cement for the school roof and then on to completing the remaining tasks to complete the construction. We pray for God’s will to see the school completed by September and the start of the new school year. It is exciting to know the current ninth graders will get to continue their education into the tenth grade for the 2024-2025 school year. We give all praise to God for blessing us through our supporters to see this need through. Below are two pictures taken on July 01, 2024, and I look forward to sharing more pictures as the construction continues on Facebook.

The children are excited to see the construction completed as they know they are the benefactors of it and how important it is for them to get an education. It is truly the only way for them to possibly get out of the extreme poverty most of them live in. I wish it were where each one of you could see the mission in person. I have stated before and will reiterate, there are many missions operated in Haiti and other countries, some which I have traveled to and none of them go above the standards of Sonlight Christian Mission, and many are well below its standard. Melio not only takes much pride in preaching the word of God as accurately, but He holds a standard of excellence with the facility and grounds as well as the teachers and students at the mission. The grounds are well manicured, facilities are clean and in good working order, teachers are professional in their look and actions and the children maintain attitudes of appreciation and well-maintained uniforms. It is something to see for yourself!
I could never end any remarks I share on the mission and its well being without praising God for all His goodness towards the mission and all it benefits. I ask Him to bless you, our supporters and prayer warriors. I know Melio mimics the same thought as he has told me in the past.

God bless you all,

Kenny Lovelace

Sonlight Christian Mission, INC

Your prayers are always needed for Haiti and the Mission

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Prayer request and Praises:
  • Pray for the troops success to control the gangs and peace in Haiti.
  • Pray for the school children and staff protection.
  • Pray for additional supporters to cover additional costs of adding 11th to 13th grades.
  • Praise God for His provision for the school addition and all the mission's needs.
Thank you to all our supporting churches as well as our many individual supporters.
Thank you all for your interest, commitment, and prayers for the mission. I know without
the prayers, we would not be where we are today. I praise God for each one of you.
Kenny Lovelace, Treasurer
Please share this with all your congregation, family, and friends. Prayerfully they may become interested in serving this mission with prayers and finance.

Greetings to all supporters in the name of our good God from Gyna and Melio.

I hope all of you are fine while reading my note.
Yes, God is good all the time to Sonlight Christian Mission and many people that I know. In spite of all the problems Haiti has, some children at Sonlight Christian Mission will finish the school year in two more weeks and some of them in three weeks. I do not have enough words to express my gratitude toward everyone who has been praying for the school year and other needs. Thank you very much for your daily prayers.

Gyna and I thank you for books, uniform, and salary for the teachers. We know how hard you are working to support and educate the children. We want you to know how much we appreciate all you are doing for Sonlight Christian Mission school. A special thank you from staff and children for the feeding program.

I solicit your prayers for the four rooms we will pour concrete for as soon as the school is closed in mid-July. I also want you to pray for funds to purchase uniforms and others items this year for the children.

The international Force is in Haiti, but nothing has improved yet. The roads are still closed, and folks are leaving their homes because the gangs have become aggressive and angrier daily. The situation is very sad, but we know it will not remain the way it is.

Gyna is doing better with her back pain, but please continue to pray for her. Pray also for Christian as he is supposed to attend college in August.

Many thanks from the children, staff, and Gyna and I for all you have accomplished for Sonlight Christian Mission. May God bless you forever.                                                                                                                                                                          Melio
