1st Quarter 2026 January 1, 2026

Hi Everyone, today is a bittersweet day, as I am so blessed by meeting and talking with Stephanie who will be our new treasurer and forwarding agent. The sad part for me will be missing the wonderful experiences I have witnessed as treasurer over the last thirteen years of how God provides in the toughest of times, when my human abilities can’t comprehend how things will work out for the mission. I thank you all first, for the many years of dedication you have shown by serving God through your support to SCM in prayers and finances. I love Melio as he is truly my brother. He has shown me how to live as a Christian by the way he lives his daily life and in his words of encouragement. His faith has never waivered and he always tells me when things get tough, “Mr. Kenny, God can do the impossible” and He absolutely can.
I will continue with the board as treasurer assisting Steph through June 30, 2026 and will be available for anything she may need for the foreseeable future. I have a desire to take another team to Haiti when it is safe to do so and will be happy to help Melio and the board with anything I can to assist the continued growth and its sustainability. God has led me to serve with a nonprofit that responds to catastrophic weather events like hurricanes, tornados and floods that affect people’s lives. We can pray, minister to the owners, remove trees, tarp roofs, and remove mud and water damage from homes. I have been serving them since September of 2024, and I know God has directed me there.

I praise God for His answered prayers to send SCM a God led individual to serve as treasurer.
Please see the message, below, from Stephanie Wijesinghe who will take over as treasurer on May 01, 2026.
Blessings to all of you, Kenny Lovelace, Treasurer

Hello to all supporters, I’ve spent my professional career working in operations and finance. Since we started attending Bethany, I’ve heard God calling my heart to serve, and when Pastor Wayne sent out an email asking for someone to consider taking on this role it seemed like I could definitely help with. We had the privilege of hearing Melio speak last fall at Bethany. Hearing him preach the Word and tell us about Sonlight Christian Mission was such a blessing to all of us. I’m humbled to be able to serve such an incredible organization in a small way.
A little about me; I’ve been a believer all my life. I was three days old the first time my parents took me to church. I was born in California, but our family has lived in Georgia for over 35 years now. So, I tell people I’m a southerner, and I have the southern drawl to prove it!
In the last few years, my faith has become more precious to me, and I have found myself studying the Bible more than I ever have in my life. My family and friends call me a Bible nerd because I’m constantly reading and telling them about all the new things I’ve learned.
One of my favorite verses is 1 Samuel 12:22. “For the Lord will not forsake his people, for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you a people for himself.” I love the reassurance we have in Him that the love He has for us is eternal. He will never forsake us. The verse also says that it pleased Him to make us a people for himself. I’m always humbled that God chose even me to be part of His kingdom.
I know it will be impossible to fill Mr. Kenny’s shoes, but I will do my best. I’ve already learned so much from him in such a short time. His passion for the Lord, and for Sonlight is truly inspiring. I look forward to getting to know all of you. If you have any questions for me, please reach out. They tell me my phone is surgically attached My number is 678-761-3508 and you can email me at scmmissions@gmail.com. The new address to send donations to starting May 01, 2026, is Sonlight Christian Mission, C/O Bethany Christian Church, 3264 Villa Rica Highway, Dallas, Ga. 30157, Attn: Stephanie Wijesinghe
Blessings, Steph

Your prayers are always needed for Haiti and the Mission
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7
Prayer request and Praises:
Pray for control of the gangs in Haiti
Pray for the school children, staff and congregation going to and from the mission.
Pray for new supporters to cover costs for adding and maintaining additional school grades.
Praise God for His protection over the mission.

Thank you all for your interest, commitment, and prayers for the mission. I know without
the prayers, we would not be where we are today. I praise God for each one of you.
Kenny Lovelace, Treasurer
Please share this with all your congregation, family, and friends. Prayerfully they may become interested in serving this mission with prayers and finance.

A message from Gyna and Melio to our supporters,
[3/31, 6:27 AM] Good morning Mr. Kenny, Stephanie and supporters, I hope you have had a good night’s rest and the Almighty will give you a blessed day. As for my family, Gyna has minor pain, but she goes to the revival every night. Gyna and I want to send Happy Easter to all board members and supporters and thank you for all you are doing for Sonlight and us. Concerning news about Haiti, the gangs break my heart daily because they killed innocent people all the time. The sad thing is the police is very weak in front of them.
Let us take for example Route Nationale # 1. Private vehicles cannot drive on it since 4 years now. That means it's been blocked for four years due to gang activities. Port au Prince and other places are not safe at all for people to travel daily. In many places in Haiti, people are starving. Many businesses are closed.
Everyday single day I pray and thank God for the supporters of Sonlight who is doing a tremendous job for the Lord. Sending needy children to school and paying salaries of the teachers. We want you to know how much we appreciate all that you are doing. Life is really hard in Haiti. Please pray for God to send new supporters because I would like to give a raise to all workers at Sonlight because life is very difficult in my homeland. To tell you the truth, all is well at Sonlight at the moment I'm writing to you. Thank you for all you are doing. May God bless you forever
In His service for the rest of my life,
Melio
