Sonlight Newsletter

July, 2022

Greetings from Melio and Gyna,

Thank you, to our awesome God and supporters for a great year of school at Sonlight.

Children are well educated, and all teachers received their monthly salaries, and the children are well fed. Thank you to God for my son Christian graduation last week (please be in prayer for him to obtain his TPS (Temporary Protected Status) so he can attend a college in the States. He wants to receive a degree in business administration and plumbing. You and I know well that nothing is impossible with God, so please be in prayer for that to happen as soon as possible.

Pray all the 9th grade students pass their government test of 2022.

A special thank you to Fletcher Christian Church and Western Hills Christian Church for supporting the ninth-grade class in 2021-2022. Thank you so much and may God bless these congregations forever. Please be in prayer for new classrooms we need to be able to add the 10th grade this year.

Thank you to all Sonlight supporters for making it what it is today. To tell you the truth, the staff and the students are very proud of you, and they want you to keep up the good work you are doing in the life of those children. You are doing such a great job. (Please give yourself a hand.) Thank you very much for all you are doing.

Please pray for a week of revival in July, class for new Deacons, VBS, and Haiti. A lot of people continue to starve, and the country remains unsafe.

Gyna and I are proud of you all.

May God bless you forever,

Melio Jean

Your prayers are always needed for Haiti and the Mission

- Philippians 4:19 NKJV

June evangelization program for children at Sonlight Christian Mission

Forty of these children accepted Christ! Praise God, as this is what the mission is all about.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

- Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

  • Gyna came to the states for a doctor visit on May 12th and returned July 3rd. Her doctor gave her a good report and said all looked good. Her pain has subsided much since then.  She was able to visit their son Christian and attend his high school graduation on June 28th. We praise God for her safe return to Gonaives and Christians accomplishment.

  • The school children received their report cards on July 4th and they did very well with their grades. We are looking forward to having the school back in session for the 1st to 9th grades in September.

Special Notes:

  • We are in the process of updating our web page sonlightchristianmission.com. We invite you to visit the page often to see the additional changes. We added a page for the newsletters in the event you want to share it with someone. We will soon add a page for the mission’s timeline pictures from 2003 to current updated pictures.

  • It is my desire to go to Haiti soon for a mission trip. Pray God will make it safe in Haiti again so we can put together a team to go and lift them up with several projects.

Thank you all for your interest, commitment and /or prayers for the mission. I know without the prayers of you all, we would not be where we are today. I praise God for each one of you.
