Hello to all our prayer warriors, friends, and supporters,

These pictures below speak volumes of the trials Haitians are facing today. They can’t go anywhere on the main roads without running into a gang roadblock and fear of the violence. This means they have to detour around them, taking sometimes several hours to maneuver their way to the destination they need to get to. The mission is blessed to have experienced the peace it has. They know who their protector is and trust God to provide their needs. We have been able to maintain a safety standard for the teachers and children by following news of when protests and demonstrations will take place and not holding school on those days. Melio has been able to assist many who are in need of food and good drinking water. There as so many in Haiti at this time however who are not that lucky.

You would think with all the bad news we hear on our TV and that I share with you for prayer points, that Haiti is a lost cause. Our God thinks that is far from the truth. Just last week, SCM held a revival ending on March 31, Easter Sunday and eight individuals accepted Christ that week. Even though they are experiencing extremely difficulties there, God continues to protect, provide, and bless them all at the mission. The Holy Spirit is working there!

I have said it the past, but the quality of Sonlight Christian Mission is a standard you won’t see at many of the missions in Haiti. Melio takes so much pride in what God has blessed them with. When you walk into the mission, it is like walking into an oasis compared to the other side of the walls. The grass is trimmed, the buildings are clean, and the landscape is trimmed out with beautiful plants, trees and bushes. The children and teachers come in their clean uniforms and the congregation is dressed in their best. You can sense when you see all these things compared to other missions I have visited, that this is a special place.

God bless each one of you,

Kenny Lovelace

Greetings in the name of our risen Lord from all Sonlight staff

We want to begin by saying thank you for all you have done for us and will do in the future. At the very moment that I am writing to you, there is something extra we would like for you to do for us in prayer.

Things are very bad in our homeland, and we would like you to pray for the safety of the children and teachers who leave their homes daily to come to Sonlight school.  To tell you the truth, the streets are very dangerous in Haiti. So, we rely on your daily prayer.

A note from all the children to Fletcher Christian Church and Western Hills Christian Church: We as children at Sonlight school would like for you to know that we will never have enough words to thank you for the daily meal you pay for. We are blessed to eat a meal at school daily because there are many children at school who would like to have a meal daily, but do not have it. We want each member to know how we appreciate the funds he or she always sends to feed us. THANK YOU AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOREVER.

Eight people accepted Christ during the last week of revival. The revival ended this morning, March 31, 2024 with a good worship service.

Please pray also for the prices to go down on materials so we can continue with the construction of the school building. Because we need the building for 10th grade this coming September.

Keep the micro-loan in your prayer because we really need extra money to assist many needy folks in the Church. There are no jobs at all in Haiti right now and the funds help those at the mission to start a small business selling items or their services which supports their family. The funds sent in previous years have helped many families and the money they pay back continues the circle of help to others.

To finish, thank you very much for the teachers’ salaries and your daily prayer. We could do nothing without our God and supporters!

Please continue to pray for Gyna's back pain. At the very moment that I' m writing to you she has back pain. We really rely on you to pray for our safety because things are out of control in Haiti.

Thank you from Gyna and I and may God bless you forever.
                                                                                         Melio
